A total of 296 rare and significant film and television lots were sold, achieving $7.2 million, including buyer’s premium.

The screen-matched opening-scene mosquito in amber fossil from Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park (1993) sold for $403,200, including buyer’s premium. The distinctive bubbling, positioning of the embedded mosquito, and patterning where the amber meets the surrounding rock screen-match the fossil seen in close-up during the Mano de Dios mine sequence. Offered publicly for the first time, the piece represents the scientific premise at the heart of the landmark film: extracting prehistoric DNA from mosquitoes preserved in amber to bring dinosaurs back to life.
