RADAR, the overhead RFID platform that gives retailers real-time, item-level inventory accuracy, today announced it has joined the Advisory Board of the Auburn University RFID Lab, one of the industry’s leading centers for RFID research, testing, and standards development.
“RFID is the foundational technology behind the solution RADAR provides to retail,” said Spencer Hewett, Founder and CEO at RADAR. “We hold our platform to extremely high standards, and we are excited to partner with Auburn who is equally respected for upholding those standards of the RFID layer that powers our platform. Together, we’re helping chart the future of this critical technology.”
Why Auburn RFID Lab
The RFID Lab at Auburn University brings together technology providers, retailers, and academic researchers to test real-world RFID performance and shape industry standards.
As a member, RADAR gets direct input into how the next generation of RFID accuracy and interoperability standards gets defined, and access to a research community validating tag performance, read accuracy, and encoding practices across the industry.
“For two decades, RFID has improved inventory accuracy through point-in-time counts,” said Jonathan Aitken, SVP of RADAR’s RFID Center of Excellence. “The next chapter in RFID is about always-current inventory truth, not just more accurate counts. Being part of Auburn’s Advisory Board puts us in the room where retailers and RFID leaders get to see that next chapter, and RADAR is excited to be leading the way.”
